These awards are in memory of my mom, Lois, who passed away in December 2024. She spent over 30 years educating and advocating for individuals whose lives were adversely impacted by diabetes. A number of them have credited her with saving their lives.
During her younger years, Lois was a children's teacher at her church and during Vacation Bible School. She also served in other positions that were youth focused. Our home was always open to neighborhood and church childhood friends and were considered part of our family.
Lois also blessed many disabled and senior citizens, especially during the last years of her life, through her greeting cards and gifts ministry. Most of them she never even met in person, but developed friendships with some via phone conversations.

Our nonprofit is committed to honoring outstanding students who are willing to similarly serve and bless others in our community.
